PERSONAL PROSE:

I am preparing to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Linguistics. I minored in Italian and French and also pursued a certificate in West European Studies. I will be attending the University of Pittsburgh in the fall for my MA in Applied Linguistics thanks to the K. Leory Irvis Fellowship awarded to me by the university.

As an undergraduate, I spend nine months in Grenoble, France where I learned French ab initio. I was awared the EUS Scholarship by my study abroad program. I also studied intensive Hungarian after receiving a summer scholarship from University of Pittsburgh Summer Language Institute. I also spent one summer in Sicily (Syracuse, Italy) studying Italian after being granted an award from the Nationality Rooms. I also did promotions for study abroad to other members of the university community and to high school students.

After completing my MA in Applied Linguistics, I hope to spend a year or two teaching English as a second language to adults abroad. Then, possibly pursue a doctorate in Second Language Studies.
